data_year
The year the financial figures on a profile describe.
data_year is the year the giving and financial figures on a profile are about.
It is required beside every figure, and it is the single most important field on a funder record. A 990 figure without its year is a historical fact pretending to be a current one, and that is the most common way funder data misleads.
A profile read in 2026 showing figures from a 2023 filing is showing 2023 facts. The record says so rather than leaving the reader to assume.
