assets_total
Total assets at the end of the stated fiscal year.
assets_total is what the funder held at the close of
fiscal_year.
For a private foundation it is the closest thing to a forecast of future giving that exists, because the annual payout requirement is calculated against investment assets. It is not a forecast and we publish none: what is on the profile is the asset figure and the giving figure, each with its year, so the relationship is visible without being computed for you.
