Grant agreement
The signed document setting out what a funder will pay, what the recipient will do, and on what conditions. It is the binding instrument, it frequently differs from the notice, and it is the version that governs.

In detail
Terms that were not in the announcement appear here routinely: payment schedule, reporting dates, publicity requirements, intellectual property, what happens to unspent money.
It is negotiable more often than recipients assume, particularly on reporting frequency and payment timing, and the moment to raise it is before signature rather than after.
Against the notice
A notice invites applications and is public; an agreement makes an award and is not. We hold the first, with `source_url` and `last_verified_at` on every record, and none of the second — a field for agreement terms would be empty on every record in the catalogue, and an empty field reads as an absence of terms.
