Amendment
A formal change to something already issued — a revised notice before the deadline, or a revised award after it. On the notice side an amendment can move a deadline, change eligibility, or alter the amount available.

In detail
Notice amendments are the reason a listing checked once is not a listing you can rely on. Deadlines move, ceilings change, eligibility is clarified, and the original page is quietly replaced.
Award amendments follow the prior-approval process and are the mechanism by which a scope change or an extension becomes official rather than agreed in conversation.
Against our verification stamp
This is the entry the freshness fields exist for. `last_verified_at` says when we last confirmed a record against its source and `verify_method` says how; a record whose source was amended after that date is a record describing a page that has changed. That is why the date is on every record rather than a site-wide claim about how often we crawl.
How GrantTrove stores it
- `last_verified_at` and `verify_method` are per-record, so freshness is a fact about the row you are reading rather than an average.
- Alerts can tell you when a record you follow changes, which is the case an amendment creates.

How do I know a notice was amended?
The verification date on the record says when we last confirmed it. Alerts report changes on records you follow.
Can a deadline move?
Frequently, in both directions. It is one of the most amended fields.
Do you keep the previous version?
Each record references a stored snapshot of the source page it was built from.
